Our soaps contain no palm oil, no SLS, no parabens, no detergents, no animal products or testing, no melt & pour, no plastic wrap.
By eliminating harsh ingredients like detergents, parabens (cheap preservatives) and sulphates (foaming & de-greasing agents) used by commercial soap producers, we allow the natural goodness of our fresh goats’ milk to gently work wonders on your skin.
Our soaps are hand cut and cured for at least 6 weeks to produce a longer lasting soap.
All of our soaps and gift sets are plastic free and our standard size soaps are wrapped in eco friendly waxed paper with a paper sleeve featuring watercolour illustrations painted by Billy & Lilly’s owner Jo Green.
As our soaps are all handmade, the appearance, size, shape, weight, colour and texture of the soaps may vary from batch to batch. Each standard bar is approximately 85g and each travel size soap is approximately 30g.
All of our soaps are suitable for the face and body, although we are in a world where allergens are becoming more common and we are not able to guarantee that our soaps will be suitable for everyone. If you are concerned about having an allergy to any of the ingredients, we recommend that you do an allergy test and use the soap on the inside of the forearm and hands for the first 24 to 48 hours. If irritation, redness or itching occurs, discontinue use. Avoid contact with eyes. For external use only.
Caring for your soap
Handmade soaps naturally have a high glycerin content, which is great for your skin, but it also means that the soap needs to dry out between uses. If left in standing water, the soap will break down quickly and become mushy. To extend the life of your handcrafted soap, store somewhere to dry out between uses, place it in a well-draining soap dish or rack (slatted wood or bamboo soap dish is ideal because it drains water away from the soap, allowing the soap to dry properly.)
